General purpose duct is usually used to protect services over short areas where there is no requirement for colour coding. As this is a relatively lightweight duct system it should not be used where the ducting is likely to be under a heavy load, i.e. trafficked areas or deep underground installations.
Each length has an integral blown socket for connecting to the next section. Separate joiners and bends are also available if required.
The main difference between general purpose duct and most of our other duct systems is that general purpose duct is manufactured in PVC. This makes it less resistant to crush forces than other types of duct, which is generally made from HDPE (high density polyethylene).
